Asheville, NC Panorama from Buncombe County Courthouse Roof

Asheville, NC Panorama from Buncombe County Courthouse Roof

We were visiting friends in Asheville, and I wondered if I could gain permission to shoot a panorama photo from the Buncombe County Courthouse in Asheville, NC. 3 calls and 1 hour later I had access for not one but two attempts. This was a quick shot during the afternoon and was just a trial for a sunset panoramic from the lower roof in the evening. I know it is the wrong time of day and that the buildings are backlit. It showed me that this was too high an elevation from which to shoot.

Please view the evening Asheville, NC Panorama from Buncombe County Courthouse panoramic here.

Technical:

  1. Shot with a Nikon 14-24mm on a D3s body using Nodal Ninja pano head
  2. This image was reprocessed with Lightroom 4 beta and stitched together in Photoshop CS5

Buckhead Panoramic Walkthrough

Buckhead Panoramic Walkthrough

These  panoramic images are quick stitches of  images taken this morning with a Nikon 14-24mm during a walkthrough on all the Atlanta Financial Center roofs. Imagine a sunset sky reflecting off the beautifully reflective windows and car head and tail lights streaking on Peachtree Street and GA 400. Though it was obviously very overcast, the building management brightened my day with great communication and a willingness to help both of us succeed with these images. A cold front is moving through and this Saturday and Sunday is going to be CLEAR!

Nodal Ninja 5 is coming from @BorrowLenses. Insurance certificate emailed to building management. Hopefully, early next week I will get some great panos online.

Update:  View the stunning final Buckhead skyline sunset panoramic images in my pano portfolio.

Buckhead Panoramic Site Survey

Buckhead Panoramic Site Survey

These  panoramics are very quick stitches of images taken this morning during a site survey from every one of the Atlanta Financial Center roofs. I agree, they are boring, but just imagine a sunset sky reflecting off the beautifully reflective windows and car headlights streaking on Peachtree Street and GA 400! Though it was obviously very overcast, it was a very successful site survey. Building management was very willing to provide everything I needed to succeed with these images. A cold front is moving through and this Saturday and Sunday is going to be CLEAR!

Nodal Ninja 5 is coming from @BorrowLenses. I emailed the insurance certificate to the building management. Hopefully, early next week I will get some great panos online.
